One of these days, I will wax poetic about ZZ Top, who are OG. They don’t do anything because it is cool, stuff becomes cool because they did it. Case in point: beards, sunglasses, trucker caps, getting paid, fuzzy guitars, having swank novelty cars, pearl necklaces (LOLOLOL!), bragging about being big like Texas, music videos with leggy chicks, synthesizers. Seriously, most rap has been following this formula to the letter for 20 years now.
